Hodges Ranch
Hodges Ranch has been raising livestock in Sterling County since 1889. The Hodges family first branched into the sheep industry in 1917. In 1924, they purchased the ranch's first registered Rambouillet ram. Hair sheep were brought to the ranch in the late 1990's by Clinton Hodges and his wife, Joyce. These sheep were purchased directly from the original Royal White flock developed by the late Bill Hoag. Clinton and Joyce, along with their son Wesley, were instrumental in introducing hair sheep to West Texas. Wesley, his wife Karen, and their children continue to operate on land that includes parcels of the original homestead.
